From football player to model?

Aside from his fantastic football skills, El Niño doesn’t just limit himself to the pitch.

The young athlete from Madrid is joining the rank of other notable player’s such as David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, who have used their good looks to crossover into modeling.

Torres has done modeling work in the past for the brand ‘Pepe Jeans’ and it seems now that his become the new face for Emidio Tucci, modeling their new spring-summer collection.

Fernando has been chosen by the label for a campaign that will be show cased throughout Spain’s ‘El Corte Ingles’ department stores.

The venue for the stylish photographic shoot carried out by Sergi Pons, was none other than the city that gave Fernando such international fame, his club’s hometown of Liverpool.

The shoot began at the beginning of March were the Spaniard posed with more than six different looks and style. The photos will be used in catalogs, magazines, television, billboards, as well as ‘El Corte Ingles’ department stores.

I know some football fans (particularly males), have an issue with their favorite football player ‘prancing around’ modeling clothes. Personally I don’t mind, I wish they would model more….maybe less clothes next time Torres?(haha )

So I wonder, what do you guys, the fans–think about Fernando’s modeling? Do you think he should concentrate more on the pitch? Or find his modeling as harmless fun his entitled to?
